Planning permission was granted in 2005 to build a riverside lodge linked to the fishings.
It is rare indeed to see a lodge with accommodation (its not just a fishing hut) built on the banks of a river. Rising salmon can be watched from the comfort of the lodge, a mere fly cast away.
The lodge, built of block with cavity walls, timber clad with single ply membrane and sedum turf roof, blends with its surroundings. There is ample parking for fishermen.
The lodge, which has been built to withstand floods, is fully double glazed, well insulated and has electric heating. All windows face south looking out onto the river.
The accommodation comprises 3 twin bedrooms with en suite showers, a trophy hung rod room, and a large recreation room with kitchen, woodstove and bar alongside the window overlooking the main lie, which is within casting distance.
Other facilities and features include a drying cupboard, chest freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, ice maker, oven, hobs, hangers, lockers and wader friendly floor surfaces.
Available also are Wi-fi, Sky TV and Skype.
